We designed and installed this new fitted kitchen in Gateshead for Jay and his family.
The brief was to completely transform his kitchen space and include some funky storage and space saving ideas to make the most of his kitchen area.
Jay's wife chose the Oakgrain Indigo Blue colour doors paired with a contrasting Paros Marble laminate worktop while visiting our showroom.
As well as a whole new kitchen we were asked to extend Jay’s existing flooring from the hallway into the kitchen.
One of the issues with Jay’s kitchen was the pantry door clashing on the door to the kitchen itself, as well as both doors encroaching into the kitchen. We supplied and installed a sliding barn door to remove this problem while also adding character to the room. Jay and his family were buzzing with the end result!
We also installed an extended size 90cm induction hob and matching hood. This meant they had much more room to cook with larger pans. Jay being tall, often banged his head on the cooker hood. To avoid this, we specified an angled unit which also makes the cooking area feel more spacious.

Why a New Kitchen ?
The old units were dated and with so many new design features requested, it made sense to go with a completely new install.
Design Features and Challenges
The family struggled with the size of their old fridge freezer and were contemplating an American style for its capacity. However, they also want their appliances to be integrated which isn’t possible with free standing American units. American units also stick out further than the kitchen cupboards taking up precious floor space.
Our solution to provide both the capacity and sleek modern appearance was a pigeon pair of full-size fridge and separate freezer. The family loved this design which ticked all their boxes, and they were particularly chuffed with the sliding barn door solution.
Extras
To save Jay organising other tradesman our team also extended their tiled flooring from the hallway. This saved hassle and money for the family.
