Eunice from Ouston had a lovely kitchen in place, which was supplied by another company some years ago. She was looking to make use of some empty space in her dining area. We were asked to configure some extra matching kitchen units for a new integrated fridge-freezer and some extra storage cupboards to create a utility area. Obviously, it had to match the style and colour she already had in her kitchen.
The brief was to create a functional utility area, to include space for a fridge-freezer with matching door colour and style. It was also mentioned that Eunice’s family would love to be able to watch the TV in that area if possible.
Our designer arrived at Eunice’s home, with a van full of samples and quickly identified the existing colour and style of the doors. Matching the handles was not a problem either, as we have hundreds to choose from. Eunice was really impressed that we could even source a worktop to match the existing kitchen perfectly. Having all the right components to create an exact match to her existing kitchen, we then discussed the size and shape of the units to be fitted.
The first unit we installed was a standard tall appliance cabinet to house the new integrated fridge-freezer. Then we added a matching trim to the side of that, so when the doors opened, they wouldn’t clash on the side wall. Finally, we created a double made-to measure base cabinet so it gave Eunice plenty of additional storage space, while providing enough room above to comfortably have a TV sit on top of the new worktop.
One of the things Eunice disliked about her old fridge in the kitchen was with it being so low (as it was an under-counter appliance) meant she had to bend down to grab things like milk, when making a cup of tea throughout the day. By installing a new tall unit, we were able to create a space for a modern full height fridge-freezer. This meant no more bending over and the fridge was easy to access as she was sick of, “being on her hand and knees to reach food from the back of the shelves”.

Why a Makeover ?
The original space had a stand-alone French dresser, which didn’t make the most of the space and didn’t match with the style and colour of the existing kitchen. Eunice was overjoyed we could create a new utility space that looked an exact match to her existing kitchen.
Eunice struggled to find a company who was interested in doing what she wanted. She couldn’t get in contact with the original kitchen fitter, as she believed they may have retired. She was struggling to find a company to do the job and one that could even source the products to match her existing kitchen. After searching online, she was able to find us, and we were more than happy to help. Bespoke projects are something we love being asked to do, so we jumped at the chance to take on the challenge!
Eunice has since recommended us to two of her close friends and we are in the process of discussing their project ideas and kitchen dreams.
