We completed this Kitchen Makeover in North Tyneside for Maureen, with the help of her daughter Lynn. They were looking to modernise the kitchen as they were happy with the layout but the kitchen needed updating by introducing a modern colour but keeping the classic kitchen style..
The brief was to create a modern looking kitchen with clean lines and hidden appliances where possible. Maureen and Lynn visited our showroom and they fell in love with our Supermatt Pistachio green display.
Our designer took out a range of samples, which showed Maureen a few more colours to consider, but Pistachio won the day!
The Buxton style door with the beautiful Bronze Barrington handles really does look stunning. Albus Grey worktops give a stylish contrast to the Pistachio doors, creating a stunning kitchen space.
One of the things Maureen really disliked about her old kitchen was the oven was below her hob, like many people have, and it was back-breaking to get things out of the oven at times. By installing the new oven into a new tall appliance housing, we were able to remedy this and Maureen’s back ache was no longer an issue. We were also able to create two new pan drawers below the oven giving her loads of extra storage. Then we replaced the existing free standing washer with a new built-in washer dryer, you don’t even know it’s there till you open the doors.
We were asked to box in boiler so the new cupboard would match the rest of the kitchen. Lynn suggested extending the new boiler cupboard down to the worktop, so Maureen could have a couple of extra drawers – with our ability to make anything work, we created exactly what they wished for.

Why a Kitchen Makeover ?
Maureen and Lynn opted for a Kitchen Makeover retaining most original units while adding some new units to improve the functionality and create a new space for the oven. Retaining some of the original units saved a lot of time and money.
Adding colour to reinvigorate and some extra storage in places was the customers brief. We also had to do something to save Maureen’s poor back. Adding a new washer dryer, which was integrated was also a big plus for them, as it saved drying clothes in the winter on radiators, which is never great. By offering a bespoke, made-to-measure service we were able to create a new boiler cupboard with drawers in it, just above the worktop, for extra storage.
