We completed this Kitchen Makeover in Durham for Rosalind from Pelton, who was looking to completely update her kitchen. This would involve removing the outdated tiles but retaining her much-loved, free-standing cooker and fridge freezer.
The brief was to create a modern looking kitchen with colours to compliment the new dark grey marble flooring, which she’d just had installed, and the free standing appliances if possible. Rosalind liked the idea of a mid-blue or grey colour for her new kitchen and wanted to re-tile her outdated splashback with a complimentary, but simple new colour.
Our design team suggested the new Hemsley door style, in the Mood Grey colour. Mood Grey is a great new colour, which some might say is a mixture of blue and grey. Rosalind loved the new door combination and asked for the brushed chrome strap handles, which we think work really well with the existing appliances and new flooring.
The new Dark Grey Metro tiles, which the customer picked out for us to fit, make a lovely addition to this kitchen, complimenting the new Anthracite Granite Laminate worktops as well.
Rosalind took the opportunity to upgrade her old sink with a new grey, granite single bowl sink and we even gave the free-standing boiler cupboard a makeover, with a new made-to-measure cabinet keeping it boxed in and out of the way.
One of the things Rosalind disliked about her old kitchen was the outdated wooden look. Well, this kitchen makeover certainly changes that completely!

Why a Kitchen Makeover ?
Rosalind opted for a full kitchen makeover retaining all the original units, other than the boiler cabinet, which she wanted to make smaller, as the existing one was far too big. Retaining the existing cabinets saved her a lot of money not to mention time and stress as a full rip-out was not needed.
Adding the new tiled splashback, at the customer’s request, was quite straight forward for our fitting team. We carefully removed the old tiling and once the new worktops and panels were installed, we got to work installing the new grey metro tiles.
Rosalind was very happy with the finished result, being particularly impressed with how professional and organised the whole team came across.
